My Journey Through IBM:
My Sojourn of 2yrs in IBM wasn't that easy.. Or rough.. but memorable.
It started with the 20 days of Software Testing Training at Queens Residency.. There I learned a bit, Yawned a lot, Sketched, Mocked at the trainer, Cribbed about ambiance, Food.. Chatted on net meeting, exchanged remarks, made first opinion about my colleagues.
During the last days of internal Training, our RTV jumped on a speed breaker dangerously and 3friends got hurt.. I was able to escape the class to accompany the injured friends at Batra Hospital ;). On the Last day we saw a Horrible horror movie on projector, it was Wrong Turn i guess, n I still cant forgive the person who brought that movie.
Then Came the Bench Period and it indeed was the best period of my life, with the group of benchers we had, it was all the more fun - the movies, outings, giggles, two wheeler drives and countless stupid actions... can never be forgotten.
Trip to Bangalore was altogether different- a new venture and a new experience - earlier I had trouble convincing my parents as it was the only way I could get a project, though I didn't want any.. Was happy getting paid for nothing.
I will always cherish the Masti Days at the Guest House, house Hunting, Games, Food, Cooking, Dance parties at home, Nautanki, Small Fights, Night Shows, MG Road Ice creams, Shopping spree, Trial Rooms, coming home singing and shouting from EGL, Treats, Taste of Rampur, Dhobi Patke, early morning Exercises, Beauty sessions, How can i miss Shama- our efficient maid we missed for months, Birthday Bashes, New yr Party, IBM Imprints 2006, safai Abhiyaan, Leela Palace.
We were lucky enough to see the ghost, a horrifying person always standing outside our home. I still remember those scaring eyes of dogs who used to wander around our house. Between all this fun in Bangy i was working in an Autobilling Project, where I enjoyed working and the lavish dinners with a team of youngsters. Bangy Sojourn made me more mature as a person and I learnt things which i otherwise wouldn't have bothered to do.
After a great and successful battle to get a transfer, I returned to my sweet and hot Delhi. I was on bench for a week, it was unbearable without my fellow benchers. Soon i landed in Bharti Account of IBM, Worked for a year as a Business Analyst in BI under a marvellous female, and project manager Miss Sonia Marwaha, and was guided by the knowledgeable senior business consultant Mr Rajeev Bansal. Initially no1 knew what m i supposed to do in that project, as i had no prior knowledge of Telecomm and the "BA" role. I enjoyed this time exploring Nehru Palace eating outlets, also completed some online courses and trainings. Between I also got BRAVO for.. hm.. i guess figuring out what and how to start as BA. Later as time flew I was a proud member of BI Angels gang. Together the five of us explored GK2, Dilli Hatt, and on my last day went to IHC.
During my stay at Okhla, I used to meet my testing gang regularly at 32nd milestone, Adventure Island, CP, Saket, Neemrana Fort- the fun part with them never changed.
My last day at IBM was a hectic one as I was required to do some project work on urgent basis and had to get over with some of the leaving formalities. I got cards, gifts, wishes, and a party at Indian Habitat Centre. I had a mixed feeling of happiness, and loneliness.. as if I am leaving sumthng very Important behind..
Initially i was reluctant to make friends within here and today when m leaving it, i have made few of my most wonderful and treasured friends in IBM.
In all there is a nostalgic feeling leaving IBM.. will miss all the fun, the chats on sametime or otherwise, the parties- i wonder who is gonna organize them now ;).
It's not Good Bye that I would want to say. I would like to say,"Hope to see you soon. Keep in Touch"
