An i for an I

Once upon a time there were five friends — a, e, i, o and u — who decided to go and live among a race of people called the Consonants. The Consonants were a rough bunch who rarely got along well with each other. But after the five friends, who called themselves the Vowels, came to live with them, matters improved immensely. They forged new bonds between the Consonants and brought a sense of togetherness to the community. Not long after, all the members decided to elect a king from their midst and no one was surprised when the sensible, modest i emerged as the unanimous choice. “Capital! Capital!” cried the other Vowels in delight as the jewelled crown was placed on the head of i, who now became I, the emperor of the kingdom of Words. I ruled wisely and well with the help of his four friends whom he consulted on all matters. As for the townsfolk, they loved their king so much that whenever they had to speak about themselves, they would use their good king’s name instead. Thus, peace and harmony prevailed in Words. However, not so long ago, the four friends noticed a change in the attitude of the people. Curiously, I’s subjects seemed to be growing resentful towards their king. The reason behind this came to light one day when the quartet received an invitation from a mysterious stranger called Toi. The four Vowels called at his house that night and returned a few hours later, thoroughly shaken. Toi had told them that he wasn’t happy with the existing state of affairs as it was unfair. “Monarchy is a fading notion”, he had explained calmly, “A lone individual should not be invested with all the powers”. Toi told them that he had spoken to the people many times in the last few months and all had agreed with him. “Persuade him to abdicate. It’s for the best”, he had said gently. And so, to the citizens’ delight, I once again agreed to become i, a commoner. Secretly, he was quite relieved as he was getting a bit tired of being king. His friends, too, were glad to have him back. And Toi? He continued being the silent harbinger of change. The question is, is there a moral in this story? Well, even if there is, one thing’s for sure: ‘i’ wouldn’t know.

PS: thats an article picked up from TOI.

Leela Palace

On Friday i got released from my current project, Now I was trying my best for the transfer.. I have decided that I wont agree for any Bangalore project.. So now maximum may be 2 weeks more in Bangalore, then back to Delhi... Oh its near.. so hurry up and explore the rest of the Bangalore...
On Saturday as usual,we were busy with all the cleaning stuff... and then a break from office chaos was also necessary...
but then we have decided to go for boating at Ulsoor lake on Sunday...
Now on Sunday, we woke up as usual at 9 am... but were occupied chatting .. oblivious about the time... till it struck us about the breakfast...
After breakfast, i kept on watching television for long, and rest of my friends, went to sleep... then at around 4:30pm, i reminded all of them about the time and their promise to go to the lake... we were 4 that time, but kalpana declined to go with us as she had to study for her ongoing training of COBOL. So after having Lunch, we 3, me, shweta and karuna got ready in 5 mins for the Ulsoor lake... around 5:30, we left the home...
At auto stand we asked one autorikshaw driver if there is boating at Ulsoor lake.. he said no the boating at that lake has stopped a long time back... Then what... we were so determined to go out for some masti, that we could soon decide on where to go...

At last decided on Leela Palace... a 5 Start hotel cum Gallaria..
Its a very nice place... we have been there manier times before but then.. its always so fascinating...
First of all we roamed around at the ground level.. did some window shopping... went to barista also, but that time there were no empty tables... so again retorted to window shopping...
At some shop, we tried to guess the price of the dress on the mannequin, and then check out who among us was close to the actual price... I quoted the price for a dress at Sukriti as 3000, shweta said 4500 and then karuna said 4600.. We entered the shop, all the dresses there were awesome... but the price for the window dress on bet was 7200... so i guess karuna won it.. partially though...
then we went to the swimming pool of Leela... its at one corner of the Palace, but very very mesmerising... but at that time there were many people at the pool.. so we decided to come there later,( Though we are not allowed to enter that side as we are not the residents) ... then we went to Barista at Ground level.... Got the table this time... ordered for a wicked Brownie... shweta's favorite and mine also... sat there for long,.. commented on people, their attire .. attitude.. every crap... by then a gora had started playing piano at Basement 2 level, visible from out seat.
Then... we got nasty and one by one we started escaping without getting in notice of Barista people... First Karuna escaped to the right side... then shweta to the left side... I kept on sitting for some more time.. as if waiting for my friends to return... actually was thinking, if i should pay for Brownie, or try my luck to escape as well...
Then i stood up, and asked a waiter for the cheque, he asked to go to the counter and present the slip of order there for the payment.. i went there with the slip, and kept it at the upper level of counter.. there were many people.. so nobody looked at my slip for a long time... then i called up shweta,.. that i am still in dilemma.. of what to do... when i was talking i noticed that the slip was not there... then pretending to be on phone i also succeeded to escape left...;)... well it was an experience.. no guilt... and fun...:).... Cmon it was April Fools day... we just fooled them...
then we searched the Amoeba at all the level... but atlast located it on a map, and went there.. Amoeba is a sport bar of Leela... first we entered first gate, 2 guards were standing there, then as we entered there was another door, we entered that, and there was a golf game on left side, and drinks counter on the rite and at the centre there was s platform to dance i guess... there was some seating arrangements and a LCD TV as well... at the drinks counter there was a couple sitting... the guy was so cute... he had a ting of innocence on his face... His hair were so good.. the female with him looked more like his sister... she looked like a school girl... whatever, the guy was very attractive...
Then we entered another door, there was bowling alley, some stupid video games, one air hockey table and one pool table. All were occupied but we could manage to get an empty table beside the Bowling alley. we started cheering up some people playing well already...
then after some time left Amoeba.. and again went for First Floor exploration. This time we entered a Balcony, from there we could view "CITRUS" the restaurant of Leela and the swimming pool.. the view was amazing.. there was a soft music playing at downstairs... then me and shweta tried Salsa on that music.. which was pathetic i suppose....
After that we decided to go to the swimming pool.. On the corridor to Swimming pool, My wallet got droped, so we all turned back to pick it, but as wee turned front, there was a gora coming towards us with his arms open... as if gonna hug shweta... we were shocked and a bit frightened also... but then he went to another guy at our back.. He was emulating some Gag Act... Was funny though...
At swimming pool.. we sat at the back side. No body was there. The water was cool and calm.. we started singing some soft romantic songs... then a gora came for swimming, then we shifted to the front of the swimming pool, where we generally sit... there we started good songs on our cell... But then some cleaner came and asked us if we are staying here... Since we were not so he requested us to move out, as entrance to swimming pool is allowed only for the residents there. Any ways it was already 8:15pm, so we were planning to move to home..
So we moved out of Leela at last.. and started searching for an Auto, though we knew that it would be difficult to get an Auto for a place just 2 km far..:D.. any how after stopping and asking some 2-3 autos, we started enjoying our long walk to home..
On the pavement parallel to Manipal Hospital.. we started dancing on Chakk dhoom dhoom... of Dil to pagal hai.. We discussed the steps in that song. None of us was concerned that may be people are watching us.. We were so involved within us...
Then we had Juice on our way back to home
It was among the best time of Bangalore... I will miss u a bit...;)

Failure at MICA

Today the Final result of MICA was out..As I refreshed my Yahoo Mail, and saw a mail from MICA announcing the results, my heart started pounding strongly, My comp Mouse automatically clicked on the mail, and then on the website in that mail. My heart asked my mind to wait till Tomorrow, its Friday Tomorrow, the auspicious weekday for my family. But no, the anticipation was too high to listen it. and then the result was as expected, Sorry to inform me that my name does not appear in the final candidates...
It was the biggest agony of my life. I had thought my childhood dream to be in advertising world, managing and building a brand could be accomplished by the MICA...
but now, i have no where to go.. Will have to continue the same soporific job at IBM, or may be going to get married soon now....Why...
I had sincerely prayed for it, though i knew i didn't do good at interview, i had screwed it away.. Damn it...
But now what God, ok.. think with a clear mind... that means i will be giving CAT this year also.. or may be i should be trying GMAT also... but will my family allow me,.. I will give CAT secretly, and if would be able to make it to IIM or MICA then they should not stop me.. lets see the rest...
MICA,.. you have to admit me for the Brand management ... :)
